Buttaflybytes Budget Beauty Bin- March 2014

Here are some budget beauty items to add to your beauty list.
First on my list of items is a cleanser. L'Oreal Ideal Clean Foaming Gel Cleanser is for all skin types. My skin is oily but it is sensitive, so I thought I'd give this a shot to check is effectiveness on my skin. I must say it is not drying and it doesn't strip my skin. It removes my makeup and provides the right amount of clean! a dime size dollop will do you and costs under $7 at Walmart or Target.
My next selection is the Maybelline Fit Liquid Foundation. I chose this because who can afford to spend over $20 for foundation all the time?  Luckily, I managed to get this one on sale for just under $5. This foundation gives ample coverage without feeling cakey. I do have a few imperfections on my skin so it does manage to give me good coverage minus using a concealer. The color matches my skin perfectly and Maybelline has extensive range of colors from cream to coffee. Maybelline Fit Foundation is not heavy on the skin,  I just use a small dime size amount on a sponge to to distribute across my skin. My only complaint is that it does  smudge, so be careful when you're wearing a white shirt.
Otherwise it gives me good bang for my buck and I am pleasantly pleased with this foundation and would purchase again whether on sale or not.
I found a great budget answer to the BadGal Eyeliner by Benefit which is the Loreal Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner. This eyeliner gives you great depth of color and dramatic effect a day look and for a  smokey eye look. It can be found at most drug stores for about $8 and perhaps cheaper if you use coupons! ; )
Lastly, a find from a dollar store is LA Colors eyeshadow in Audacious~CP121. For just a dollar I got six power packed lasting colorssuch as sheer metallic bronze, sky blue and a smokey purple to name a few. If you like L'Oreal Hip or  MAC eyeshadows, you will love this compact if you a fortunate to find it.
AllI can say is wow for this super bargain!

Bonded... Bond Girl Inspired Swimwear

Ursula Andress
Before the summer is done with us or we are done with the summer, it is not too late to strut your stuff in sexy swimwear. My inspiration for the poolside and beach is a reference back to the sultry "Bond Girls." As wishful thinking would have it; these thoughts floating in my head, what would I wear if I were a "Bond Girl"? What swimwear would be my weapon of choice?
You must admit from Ursula Andress, Dominique  Derval, Barbara Carrera, and Halle Berry each of these ladies and the other Bond Girls were the weapons of choice clad in swimwear. I have searched for some options that will make your summer swimwear attire go out with a bang.

Melissa Odabash Beachwear

Tory Burch Tankini

Pistol Panties Bikini

Take a dive into expected or unexpected territory!

Budget Beauty Products to Purchase

I have been using some beauty products that I have longed to write something about.  Since I don't have it like that to make the beauty product splurge, I found some amazing products that do just as well as high end brands.

Shampoo:
I am addicted to L'Oreal EverCreme Sulfate- Free Moisture System Cleansing Creme!
My hair is of mixed texture wavy, curly when wet or can be blown straight. I have just finished my first bottle of this product, it doesn't strip my hair and has restored my hair to a renewed level of softness! As I got halfway through the bottle, I immediately went and purchased a second bottle. I saw commercials of the Wen product, but couldn't afford to indulge; hence, this L'Oreal EverCreme Shampoo product has returned the texture of my hair to its youthful softness. Since I don't have to spend money purchasing a ton of other products to get my hair where I want it to be, I need the most economical route to hair salvation. When I go wavy, I just used a dollop of gel, crunch and go. When I want to flatiron my locks I use serum and flatiron spray and I am Rapunzel! This shampoo has allowed me to dwindle down hair products that I have been using in the past, also the conditioner is not bad either.

Foundation:
Not to sound like a spokesperson for L'Oreal but I also a fan of the True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Foundation.
The shade I use is n7-8; I also use MAC, Lancome, and Clinique foundations, but since I am doing beauty on a budget I decided to give this product a try. And for the $13, well I think I spent less than that with CVS coupons, it gives me the coverage and even tone I need. I don't like my skin to feel "make-uppy" if you know what I mean.  This foundation provides my skin with a light radiant coverage I crave. It is a task to find the perfect foundation, so give this a try for you bpj's and budget-nistas! (P.S. I am not sponsored by this brand or affiliate marketer of L' Oreal... just so you know).

Cleanser:
Ponds Luminous Clean Daily Exfoliating Cleanser is a great cleanser /exfoliant for my normal/ oily skin/ sensitive/ sometimes adult acne prone skin. There is no category for my skin during some seasons! The female skin is not always cooperative to work with, and that's why we have to spend so much on products trying to figure out this large organ! It is a treasure to find a product that works for you, but as we know, during the four seasons of the year, we have to change up accordingly.

Hence, I liken it to Clinique Foaming Cleanser, but this product has mild beads which are non irritating or drying to my skin. I used Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser to remove my makeup, then wash my face with the Ponds Luminous Clean Daily Exfoliating Cleanser. It does the job without over-drying my skin.

Nail Polish:
I like Rimmel Brand and it holds up well on my natural nails, currently using Steel Grey(taupe,brown- grey tone) great for work and play.
A go to neutral color in my mani collection.

I also like Pure Ice which can be found at Walmart, French Kiss (royal blue-pictured) and Scandal (like Vamp by Chanel) are my favorite colors. Pic posted on my instagram page... buttaflybytes. These colors are a complement to any skin tone.

Just a review of some staples I have been using the past months, give them a try or leave comments for some of your finds that I can test, try, and review. XOXO :)

Remembering Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe's anniversary of her passing took place fifty years ago today. Her impact of her beauty and style has left an ever present influence on our celebrities today.  There is always some fashion reference to Marilyn Monroe in media, fashion and makeup. I think that without her existence, would we have a Madonna, Michelle Williams, the television show Smash, and other celebrities following her trail?
Marilyn left a great legacy of film, style, and persona influences for generations
to come. American pop culture and the rest
of the world never grows tired of the late icon
Marilyn Monroe.

Madonna
Scarlett Johansson
Gwen Steffani
Blake Lively
Michelle Williams
What would Marilyn think of these modern day trendsetters who keep her memory alive?
And for you MAC fans, look out for the Marilyn Monroe Collection due October 2012.
