Finally the big game of sport for fashion fans to see, the ultimate runway show... red carpet Oscars 2011. Just as I thought pared down accessories. Lots of bangles, interesting earrings, especially those worn by Gwyneth Paltrow and Natalie Portman. Not alot of "bling" in comparison to years past. Popular colors paraded down the red carpet were reds and purples. Crisp whites made an elegant ethereal statement on garments worn by Michelle Williams and Celine Dion. No big upsets on the red carpet: however, I was a bit disappointed by Halle Berry, her Marchesa gown while beautifully crafted; it was a bit much, she looked as if she should have been placed on top of a wedding cake! Scarlett Johanssen, I so wanted to love her dress but the color is a bit drab for her.
I say, the show was dry and long...who picks the hosts?
The Academy Awards arrival on the red carpet was the fete du jour as always!
