White Hot at the Golden Globes 2015

From the parade of starlets on the red carpet at this years Golden Globes, white was the color to be seen in. Through the rain, the appearance of white gowns was more than angelic. The wave of white dresses gave those who donned this color an anti-aging appearance; which was modern, fresh, and feminine. It was like being introduced to the color for the first time. Just about all the starlets who stepped out in white gowns spun your mind into a day on a resort, I'm picturing the Mediterranean. For those who created an effortless, cottony,
sleekness; cast a glance at pics below.

DNA=Denim the Necessary Apparel Spring/ Summer 2013

Rag & Bone Blue Jodhpur Jeans
You must admit, denim is the necessary apparel item in everyone's wardrobe. Denim is seasonless and timeless; and besides, no one looks bad in denim. It is a suitable item for all shapes and sizes. Whether someone picks the right garment and fit to wear; well, that's another story. The weather is warming up for the Spring/ Summer season, we need to adjust our jeans to carry us comfortably through the warmer temperatures.

Denim has come along way since its introduction in the late 18th century. Its evolution has made denim appropiate in the business environment and after 5 apparel. Denim is dyed, tattered,embellished and transforms the wearer into the ultimate comfort zone.

Just like DNA and RNA makeup our genetics, denim is one of the basic building blocks of our wardrobe.
Do it up in Denim for the season ahead, see suggestions below.

Get Medieval! Snow White and the Huntsman

I guess I went through a writer's block last month which accounts for my lack of posts. Life happens, and s**! gets in the way and makes your mind feel like mush. Hence, my creative drive to write was parked on a cul-de-sac and now I'm back banging the keys.
Today, Snow White and the Huntsman lands in theaters and I can't wait to see it. I'm not sure that I will be amongst the crowd this weekend, people tend to get chatty in theater on opening weekend. I like going to the movies on an off day; then, I can enjoy the movie in peace and feel like I'm in my own home theater.
For this much anticipated film; I will be closely watching for the costume designs, for I like the medieval period. In this movie, the costumes worn by Snow White played by Kristen Stewart, seem to marry two characters Joan of Arc with Snow White. And the Evil Queen's attire, paraded by Charlize Theron appear to have reference from Alexander McQueen and Gareth Pugh's  collections. I can't wait to see the Evil Queen's feathers ruffle and be taken on a costume adventure of a film!

Pastel Poised

Artist have long used pastels for drawing since prehistoric times,made popular through the Renaissance Era and continuing into present day and a hit with street artists. Pastel hues are in a groove this Spring/ Summer 2012, conjuring up memories of our infancy, being swaddled in blankets and rompers. These cotton candy colors of mint, lemon yellows, pale pinks, and robin's egg blues have made their way to hair color, makeup, and wardrobe. Poised for daintiness, pastels are packing a punch this season. If these colors can't awaken one from the winter doldrums, I don't know what will.
